Malai Cake
Ingredients
To make Malai
- 4 Cups full cream milk
- 1/2 Cup Condensed Milk
- Saffron a pinch
- Cardamom 1/4 Tsp
- Pistachio slices 1 Tbsp
Method
- Combine milk and condensed milk.
- Add saffron and cardmom powder.
- Add pistachio slices.
- Cook on medium flame until it reduces to 2 /2.5 cups.
- Switch off gas and refrigerate
INGREDIENTS
To make Cake Batter
- 1/3 Cup Melted Ghee/Butter/Oil
- 1/4 Cup Condensed Milk
- 1/3 Cup Curd (Should not be too sour)
- 1 Cup Plain Flour
- 1/2 Cup Ground Sugar
- 1 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
- Milk a little less than 1/2 Cup
- Cardamom Powder 1/2 Tsp
(All ingredients should be at room temperature)
Methods
- Heat Kadhai for 10 Mins.
- Combine wet ingredients with (seived) dry ingredients
- Add cardmom powder.
- Gently fold everything together.
- Grease cake tin with ghee/butter/oil.
- Pour Batter and tap to remove air bubbles.
- Put in preheated kadhai and bake for 45 mins at low flame.
- Remove and Cool down completely before unmoulding.
- Cut the top part of cake to even it out and prick holes
- Pour Chilled Malai
- Garnish with sliced Pistachios
- Slice and Serve.
